SwMacroFlow documentation

Everything from a first batch to the full macro authoring contract. The same guides ship inside the application - open SwMacroFlow and click Help.

Using the app

  • Overview

SwMacroFlow runs one or more SOLIDWORKS macros across many parts, assemblies and drawings without anyone sitting in front of the screen. It opens each file once, runs every macro you ticked against...

  • Using the app

A walk through the window, panel by panel, in the order they appear on screen.

  • Copilot

The Copilot is a chat panel that answers questions about SwMacroFlow and SOLIDWORKS VBA, and - if you let it - writes and edits macros in your library, builds the chain, changes the scope and starts...

Writing macros

  • Writing a macro

Any SOLIDWORKS VBA macro with an argument-less Sub main works. There is no SwMacroFlow-specific code to add, no library to reference, and no result object to fill in. A macro written for SwMacroFlow...

  • Adding inputs

An input is a value the user fills in before the run. You declare it in the macro; SwMacroFlow builds the control, validates what is typed, and substitutes the value into your code before it runs.

  • Reporting a result

Use MsgBox. During a batch no dialog opens - SwMacroFlow defines its own MsgBox inside the throwaway copy it runs, so each call becomes that file's row in the results list instead.

  • Macro authoring spec

The complete contract for a macro that runs under SwMacroFlow, stated in one place.
